Descent Japanese food, in a comfortable well laid out restaurant. We went on a Saturday night and the restaurant was fairly full. We entered at 9pm and left at 11:45, it took us a long time to be served. Avoid if you're in a hurry (Not that anyone is in Matera) Food is a refreshing change to the pasta and bread.
We live in Italy and have a difficult time finding good Asian restaurants here. Sakura was such a nice treat. The decor was nice and food was the best we have had in quite a while. We ordered the All-You-Can-Eat- which includes most of the menu. We ordered lots of sushi, appetizers, Yakisoba, sliced beef, fried chicken, and ramen that was out of this world. Everything was made fresh as you order- be patience- it is worth the wait. The price was 20 Euro/per person but worth every single euro cent! There is only one caveat to the All-You-Can-Eat- it you don't eat it you have to pay for what you don't eat.
The food is excellent. prices are cheap about €3 to €4 for a main course on the Chinese menu. the Japanese menu was a bit more expensive but still cheap. The family that runs it are very nice and helpful. The sushi was freshly prepared, and presented brilliantly.
The family that runs this place is very welcoming. Sushi was very fresh and the best that we have found in Italy in our 3years here. The portions are big and totally worth the money we spent here. We would definitely go back
