Ciboom - MATERA

This place is a hidden gem. My husband and I were visiting Tradate. We decided to go for pizza for our dinner in the neighbourhood. We don’t realise we were so lucky to bump into this restaurant. The pizza we had was simply out of this world. The round crust was soft and the cheese and ham were perfect match. So was the spaghetti vongole and the shrimp tartar.

Saw tourist menu for 15 euro so gave it à shot. Mains disappointing. Ok but I don't consider à sauvage or hamburger to be a classicisme Italian secondi. The pastas are great though. Wine is cheap at 4 euro 1/2 litre. Note there is a 1.5 euro cover pp even for tourist menu. Just go off menu as you can skip limited secondi. Salad side was just some iceberg or home fries.

Brilliant food, great service and very reasonably priced. This is a super little place for lunch for dinner but because it is small it does get full very quickly. The menu contains the usual pasta and pizza dishes but also does a good steak and salad. We were amused to see 'chip ' pizza on the menu!

Totally worth to come. Good location, delicious food nice atmosphere. Prices are very friendly. :

Waited over half an hour for food, bruschetta was rock hard and order of spaghetti was served as orecchiette with no explanation. Cima di rape was over salted and the mixed salad was literally just some iceberg lettuce for €4!! Toilets are shocking too, with no loo roll. Quite poor really.
