In Matera (MT in the Sasso Caveoso district there is a large shop inside a Cave House dug into the tuff, in which a cistern for collecting water is still visible; here they also offer tastings of typical products on sale such as taralli, bran peppers, various types of sauces and jams, oil and local wines and countless types of pasta (cavatelli, strascinate etc. and much more.

Well-stocked shop selling typical products, we had a tasting with top quality products! There is so much choice that it is impossible to leave empty-handed! Recommended for those looking for something tasty to take home.

Every time I come to Matera I pass by this shop, I've become fond of it because I always find such a variety of Lucanian products. The underground floor is very characteristic because it is an old cave house. There is also the oven area where you can find Matera panzerotti and focaccias. The prices of the products are quite high for the quantity in weight of the packages, but then again we are in Matera and therefore in general the prices are higher. However, it must be underlined that the high price often reflects the quality of the product, in fact the bran peppers are not produced industrially but are the product of craftsmanship and seasonal cultivation conditioned by the year. Other products that I recommend are fried broad beans (excellent snack) and sweet peels.
