Chips N' Curry Matamata

We typically visit this restaurant once or twice a month for the affordable half-rice, half-curry combo. The food is consistently hot and delicious. The service is quick, and you can conveniently place your order over the phone.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fish and chips – they were really good! The butter chicken could have used a bit more salt, but the naan was excellent. Plus, you get a generous portion of food for such an affordable price. I happened to find this place by chance after my visit to Hobbiton.

Lovely friendly lady is not able to offer the full menu at the moment. The curries, rices and naan were delicious. I will keep on going to support her. As it is tasty and the combo is great value for money. Looking forward to the chef returning in six to eight weeks from now.

Great curry. Don’t be put off by exterior. Sitting here with a mate from Birmingham UK and it’s as good as, if not better than, anything we can get there.

We ordered the Combo Deal, which included Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice and Naan for $10, along with Chips and Curry for $5. The curry was rich and creamy, and the chips were wonderfully crispy. Overall, this meal offered great value for the price.
