Riffil's Riverside Grill - Massillon

The only slight downside is the clientele. There always seem to be some patrons at the bar who happily share their outspoken—and frankly, racist and sexist—opinions with anyone willing to listen. While this doesn't reflect on the restaurant itself, it did make me uncomfortable to hear some of the nonsense coming from a few individuals. I'd like to think this was just a one-off occurrence, but it happened twice during my visit. Both instances occurred on a weekend morning, so I can only imagine the atmosphere might be a bit rougher in the evening. Again, this doesn’t affect the food or value, but some might find the ambiance a little off-putting. If you're searching for a laid-back spot that consistently serves decent comfort food at a great price, I would definitely recommend giving Riffil's a try.

I recently visited for dinner and found a guy playing guitar with a woman singing. When I tried to order, I was handed a small piece of paper with limited menu options. When I asked the owner's daughter about it, she informed me that the regular menu stops being served at 7 pm, and since I arrived at 7:15 pm, my only option was what was on that paper. She suggested that if I didn't like it, I could leave — which I did. I've also spoken with other former regulars who used to come for food and drinks; they are now choosing to dine elsewhere too.

This place is a true local gem! I'm almost hesitant to share this review because I don’t want it to become overly crowded, but the owners really deserve the recognition. First and foremost, the food is absolutely fantastic! I'm not exaggerating at all—it’s genuinely delicious! I highly recommend trying the pecan pancake, but trust me when I say one is enough; they are massive. Their sausage gravy is incredible as well. Plus, the prices are more than reasonable. I can easily feed my two teenagers, my husband, and myself for under $20! Yes, please! This is a cozy spot that fits our style perfectly. If you're looking for a restaurant with fancy decor or ambiance, this isn't the place for you. However, if you want great food at a fair price served by friendly people, Riffils is the spot to visit!

My 1st stop in and all I had was a couple of coneys, fresh cut fries and a Pepsi but the staff was friendly and the food was good. I will be stopping back to try breakfast and dinner at some point.

Seriously, not the best food but the bar is adequate. Went for fish nite, early, and they had run out. What we did get but it was greasy and heavy. Not been back.
