Irie Island Jamaican - W Canton

Few friends and I went to the haunted house down the street and planned to stop in for food. Babyyy when I tell you Mrs Melissa’s hospitality was all that and some. Food was soooo damn fire I had stew chicken jerk cabbage peas rice . Food was so good I ain’t have time to take a picture okkk I was ready to eat . My friends had oxtails, curry , and stew chicken. And mamaaaa put her foot in that pineapple upside down cake that I ate at home with my eyes closed lol. My friends also had pound cake and strawberry crunch cake. Cake was so moist. Definitely would return to visit not just for the food but to see my new auntie Melissa . New visitors you won’t be disappointed .

Y’all hurry up and get there! U won’t be disappointed I promise. Not only does she treat you with love from the time you walk through the door. But she makes sure u like everything you buy before you leave. I never mind paying for food that satisfies my soul! I let my kids taste it and now they attacking me for more lol. We definitely will be back. Kid-friendliness: She is like a loving mother. Asked why didn’t I bring my kids inside. Not many restaurants want kids to come in. I love her for that!!

I came here with high expectations and the experience I was met with far exceeded them. The food was fantastic, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection, the atmosphere was wonderful, and the service was impeccable. I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fantastic home cooked food made with love. Will be going back as soon as I can!!! I’ve had Jamaican food before and loved it, so when I seen this place I knew I had to try it. The lady was very nice she let me try samples of everything. I decided to get the Jerk Chicken Oxtail with rice cabbage. The flavors are amazing and you can tell she makes her food with love. I will definitely be going back for more.
