Marrickville Ritz Hotel

The bar is tucked away behind the pokies area, dim and miserable with excessive xmas decorations. Small drink, somewhat expensive with an undisclosed surcharge, standard pub food, somewhat expensive. May as well go to the trendy bars around here, they're nicer and no more expensive.

We went down to play a game of pool 2 weeks ago at our local. We were told we could play as long as there were just the 2 of us that we would follow COVID rues. No problem, happy to do it. We then went back last week at which time a different manager walked out in an aggressive way told us in a condescending manner that he wouldn’t allow it. There were 2 other people in the pub at this time. Needless to say we aren’t going back will find another local where we aren’t treated us with such disdain.

Visited midweek for a quick drink and meal with a friend. My beef nachos was filling with adequate flavour. My friend seemed to enjoy his vegetarian burger. The beer prices are a ripoff: $17 for two ordinary non-craft beers.

Had dinner at the Ritz marrickville with the family yesterday! Great place warming and relaxed. Great service delicious menu! With a good atmosphere. Had the Royal burger which was magnificent one of the best burgers I have ever eaten! Will be going there again definitely!

I have recently moved back to Sydney and was told to check The Ritz out. I ordered the grilled Baramundi and also a Espresso Martini. The Martini arrived and was shocking. The top of it looked like the waitress had tipped a whole container of chocolate on it, which I was taken back by as this cocktail is not meant to have chocolate on it anyway. I then tasted it and it was so watered down that I couldn’t drink it. I then waited for my meal and when it arrived was so shocked by what I was given. The fish was still frozen in the middle and the beans that were on the plate were black at the tips, like they had been left in a fridge after the expiry date and some were mouldy. I was so shocked I took the meal back to the bar explains how shocking everything was. The girl at the bar said we will give you a refund which I wasn’t expecting but said to her something needs to be done as this is absolutely outrageous. It is a shame this bars food and beverages don’t match up to how nice this place looks. You definitely need to do something in relation to everything I have discussed above as I and everyone I have told about my experience will not be coming back!
