Daiwa Marrero

The restaurant is not very large but has a decent amount of tables and we could always get a place without reservation. We had the popular cowboy roll that cooked meat, steak and cancer, YUM. and we had a role that was not on the menu called The Angel. When she asked the waitress what her favorite was, she recommended it. The black gold sauce was delicious, it had a fine taste and complicated the sushi well. Our waitress, Ana, was a doll. Absolute treasure.

Sushi was better than most, but I wouldn't say the absolute best. I'd come back with the chance. Prices range from typical sushi dishes to relatively expensive. The atmosphere is excellent and host / hostess personality. I would recommend a friend or take a date here.

I always have loved the food at Daiwa. I always recommend it to my friends who visit the westbank. But I'm getting frustrated by their process on how they seat their guests. Both of my last two visits had issues with long wait times even when there are multiple open tables. What happened on Saturday I get there at 8 pm, it's busy but there are three table tops open (2 four tops and 1 double) and only three people sitting at the sushi bar. My friend and I told the host we would be okay going to the sushi bar because they have open seats. She told us she could not sit us because other people with larger parties who came before us were waiting and they had to seat them first before letting us go to the open seats at the sushi bar!? I didn't understand that because we were going to the bar and not one of the tables they needed to use for the large group... Didn't make sense to me. We actually ran into two family members and decided to eat together so one four top. Still ended up waiting 30 minutes, which honestly isn't terribly long, but the fact that there were open table tops while we just sat there was annoying (and they were still open when they sat us at a booth). Maybe their management needs to refocus on the Marrero location and not just Metarie.

We received such great service here. Their menu is extensive with lots of options for everyone. We tried a little Bit if everything. Our server was super friendly and accommodating. We had a bottle of the plum sake which was delicious. Definitely give this place a try.

Food and service is amazing. The menu is large, so it is good to preview before you go. You have updated the place for the last years and it is fantastic. It is not excessively expensive, but you will definitely get good food for the price.
