North Star Lounge - Marquette

In town on a business trip. Found this restaurant on Yelp. Was intrigued by the German name and all of the 5 star reviews. This restaurant is the real deal if you like German food. The menu is somewhat limited, but I think that enables the staff to perfect the dishes. Our party went with the Jagerschnitzel and Sauerbraten. The service was excellent despite it being busy. The ambiance is nice. The prices are very reasonable. Great location downtown. Highly recommend this restaurant. Call ahead to reserve a table. Will be back next trip. Unfortunately my camera doesn't take the best pictures. Regarding the restrooms, they are INSIDE the building and just down the hallway. Previous reviews took issues with the restroom location. Das Steinhaus is inside a large historic corner downtown multi use building

Flank steak was killer! The bartender was slinging drinks for us and made a bomb dirty martini for my husband. Highly recommend this place!!!! Everything was so fresh. I loved the house side salad.

This quaint and eclectic restaurant offers fantastic German cuisine, with an exceptional Jägerschnitzel that I absolutely loved. The service is excellent, and the bar menu is impressive as well. I've been there twice, and it's my top choice whenever I'm in the city.

As for the service, they mistakenly gave our order to another table, but they compensated us with half off an entrée. From the bread course to the check, we spent two hours there, which feels lengthy given the limited seating. The bread course was tasty, though the bottom crust of the loaf was tough and difficult to chew. The salad lacked flavor and had a bitter taste. However, once we finally got our entrée, it was delicious and the standout of the meal. I would recommend this restaurant to others in the area since there aren’t many options for German cuisine, and they certainly excelled with the entrée.

Walk into Germany, but wait you're in the U.P, not Europe! This place gives you all the feels and tastes of Germany and Austria from their homemade pretzels and mustard, German beer some even on tap, to their outstanding schnitzel and homemade red cabbage. Easy to walk to from downtown and just steps from Superior. I'm sure a cool place in the summer with their patio outback as well. Great service, so friendly and accommodating.
