Kokoroya Japanese Sushi - Maroubra

First time visit after reading good reviews here. Definitely is worth a visit . Very nice food , quick service , bustling atmosphere.. and great option for food in the area.

I have been meaning to try this place for awhile. My youngest son wanted 'Sushi' for his 8th birthday dinner & so we took this opportunity to try this restaurant - SO GLAD WE DID! Absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in. They put balloons on the table for him which made his night extra special for him. The food was exceptional and excellent value for money, considering this and the size of the dishes. Service was absolutely fantastic, it's been awhile since we have been to a restaurant (especially on a busy Saturday night) where every staff member seemed so happy to be there and make sure your night was special. You order on an iPad and the food comes extremely quickly and everything runs so smoothly. They also surprised my son with a birthday dessert - it's all these little touches as well as everything else that makes this establishment 5 stars! Their kids play corner is great to keep the young ones 'entertained' and the atmosphere is excellent - a place you don't get 'snubbed' because you are dinning with kids!! If you haven't tried this place DO, you will not regret it!! Thank you for making this night so special for all of us Kokoroya!

We have gone there 3 times in the last 2 months. Our experience has been consistent. Food is very tasty and easy to order with the iPad. I wish more restaurant in the areas used iPad. The service was magnificent. Nothing is too hard for the wait staff. The place is full of families and children and they are explicitly catering for children.

This is a really good local Japanese restaurant and we go hear regularly. Great food and convenient - one of the main benefits that makes the restaurant popular with young families is the play pit area. However it is also the main detraction. Parents tend not to supervise their kids while they are playing and if you are sitting next to the play area it becomes pretty noisy and invasive. Try to choose dining times when young kids are less likely to be there and you will love the atmosphere and the food.

Was a great meal nice atmosphere and heaps for the kids to do. They got activity packs when we arrived had there own play den and a toy when we left. Was a great restaurant.
