From Escargot, the classic Caesar Salad for two, my Lamb Chops and the steak of the woman, this is a place to enjoy and stay back! We often come to this area and the Lantern is best with Westchesters and NYCs, and Las Vegas classic restaurants. Don't get me wrong, The Lantern is a tiny bit expensive, but you get what you pay. The cook knows what he does and the staff is happy. On another trip I had the Lemon Sole, but the roasted shallots are such a nice touch that you may not think they're going together, but there's magic here! The sauce is light and compliments the delicate fish with is apparently fresh from the boat. The decor is a little dated, but this place has been there since I was a child. Not much has changed, and why should it? If you have it, why don't you **** with it!
Inappropriate in the fifty years I have eaten there!
Art. Absolutely the best restaurant in the valley. Food is top-notch, and the service is differently qualified everywhere. The menu varies (check it out on-line) prices are reasonable, and better than some less restaurants in the area. When you enter, you will be welcomed and sit quickly. Staff are constantly checking to ensure that you are well looked after, but do not intrude on your particular time. Appetizers are very well made, and delicious. Try the shrimp cocktail, the shrimps are big and have this crisp fresh snap when you bite in them. Steaks are amazing, and good value. Save space for dessert, especially the Bananas Foster, prepared at the table. Mike and his employees want to be happy, and they do.
Wow is all I can say from the service to the food itself, that is a treasure....you have to go at least once.... just be ready to spend some dough.
The Ship Lantern Inn has a well deserved reputation for excellence, outstanding service, classic dishes, and tradition.
