Kazunori: The Original Hand Roll

Great food; excellent value, and quick service. Adequate parking in the area by Trader Joe’s.

This hand roll restaurant offers set menus, but you can also order a la carte. My go-to is the four hand roll set, and I particularly enjoy the blue crab hand roll that concludes the meal. There’s complimentary two-hour parking available, and this location is larger than others in the Kazu Nori chain, making it more suitable for smaller groups, though it works well for solo diners too. We encountered a line outside, but on a Friday evening around 9 PM, our wait was only about 20 minutes. They accept credit cards, and the rolls are made right in front of you, ensuring top-notch quality. The combination of cool fish, warm rice, and crispy seaweed is simply unbeatable. Takeout boxes are also available.

These are truly the tastiest hand rolls I've ever had. The warm rice paired with cool fish and crispy seaweed creates a perfect combination. It's simple yet exquisite. My only complaint is that the stools aren't very comfortable for those of us with larger bodies and shorter legs. But I endure it for the sake of enjoying such delicious food!

The Marina Del Rey location, which I assume all have the same menu, is probably the weirdest ‘sushi’ I have ever had. They scoop it out of a bin like ice cream and it looks like baby food. It tastes OK, but, man, you go to get Sushi for the art of a Japanese chef cutting up fresh fish and putting on kind of a show. This place has no soul, and they do not have hot saki, strike two. Very limited sashimi, strike three and we are out.

A wonderful restaurant with excellent food and attentive service. A truly lovely atmosphere!
