There was very loud music playing from a speaker making the place feel like a nightclub and we had to ask for it to be turned down as we couldn't hear ourselves talk. First waitress took order for drinks and we had to repeat ourselves as she got it wrong it was only 3 coffees, 1 tea and 1 hot chocolate. Coffee like dish water and lukewarm warm. Chocolate instant made with water and not stirred properly. High Tea when it arrived was poor what appeared to be value sliced bread with one slice wafer thin processed meat. Cakes were mainly Mr kipling box cakes and 4 quarter pieces of scone between 5 people. We paid extra to add a 5th person but not sure we got the 5th portion? Very disappointing.
We used a voucher for lunch and found the overall experience to be positive. We thought the service from Alexis was excellent and the newly decorated old Manor House was very good. The meal itself was rated as average to poor. The front entrance has steps but wheelchair access is available at the back. There is no disabled restroom, but it may be possible to fit a wheelchair into the ladies' restroom. Only the tomato soup was gluten and dairy-free on the set menu of three courses, with no gluten-free bread available. Alexis arranged a gluten-free meal for me with chicken breast, potatoes, frozen beans, and gravy. My husband enjoyed two chocolate desserts. Despite expressing my dietary needs when booking six weeks prior, I was disappointed in my meal and rated it as poor. My husband rated his meal as average, with the desserts being good. Overall, the restaurant does not seem to cater well to non-mainstream diners.
Having recently visited the tearooms on the same site as Mansfield Manor, I received a £100 parking fine (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days) which I have felt obliged to pay having been away on holiday in the meantime. The signage is a joke, having visited Mansfield Manor in the past, I will not be returning the £60 I have been conned out of will be my last contribution! Also, I can't understand the charges midweek the car park was only half full at most.
Wow how disorganised is this venue, we were greeted with oh we weren 't expecting any wedding guests until 4pm ?? Bar service was appalling, guests queuing outside of the main doors, 40 mins plus to reach the bar, not enough seating for all guests, whoever the man was who appeared to be in ' charge ' is I would strongly suggest he books himself on a customer care course asap as he was beyond rude
Avoid this outfit at all costs. Poor service, overrated food, slack bar staff and a general lack of awareness. Full If their own self importance, this is not a great venue. Sadly the owners believe it is. Will definitely not be returning. Poor stuff.
