Spanning two floors, the venue boasts dark, atmospheric decor, cool lighting, and a well-stocked cocktail bar. We hosted a party for 80 people and the place had a fantastic vibe for a private event. The staff were also very helpful throughout the night.
My partner and I had a wonderful time at El Capo recently. The taco deal, starting at £1, and margarita cocktail deal for £6 were both great value for money. The waitress was very kind and accommodating. The restaurant had a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Overall, it was a fantastic visit!
Took ages to be seated although we had a reservation, staff didn't apologise or tell us why. Music was really loud so I couldn't hear what barman was saying to me. Food arrived fairly quick, but was cold and store bought, not fresh mexican. The staff were super rude when I mentioned the cold food, especially this one guy with a hat on who literally couldn't care less about what I was saying. Not coming here again.
Awful experience! The staff were unhelpful, disrespectful and impolite. The loud music made it impossible for us to have a conversation at our table and we couldn't hear the servers. A bartender with neck tattoos (I think his name was Aaron) spoke to me in a very aggressive manner, which was extremely shocking. The employees at El CRapo seem to either despise their job and customers or simply don't care. If I were the manager, I would focus on properly training my staff or finding new employees. We decided to leave before being subjected to any further mistreatment by the incompetent individuals at this terrible establishment.
I don 't usually kick up a fuss, but I had to leave a review as the service we received while visiting was so appalling it nearly brought me to tears. I have also worked in hospitality and I know just how busy and frustrating it can be sometimes. However, there is no excuse for the the way one of the staff members spoke to my mum. I took my parents and family members out for lunch while they were visiting me in Manchester. I made reservations at El Capo because we wanted Mexican food and a good time. I just need to mention that there are members of my family who are autistic. When we sat down, the music was incredibly loud, however that 's nothing unusual. We couldn 't hear the waitress who was taking our order, so we had to repeat it after she 'd left. Suddenly, the music volume was turned wayy up to the point where my mum thought she 'd politely ask a member of staff to turn it down a bit as we 're struggling to hear each other speak. This staff member, apparently called Aaron (neck tattoo, wore a hat) said what do you expect, us to turn it down for one table? . My mum, who is always very reasonable and lovely, explained that we struggling to hear each other. He said talk louder then and rolled his eyes. After a couple of minutes, we decided to go. I spoke to Aaron and said we have members of our family who are autistic, and that I don 't appreciate how rude he was being. He couldn 't care less , what do you expect me to do? he said. Wouldn 't recommend going here unless you love loud music to the point of not being able to hear your friends.
