Moonshadows - Malibu

The view is stunning, but unfortunately, the food leaves much to be desired. If it helps with your decision, you’ll need to use valet parking to secure a spot. The service was good; they replaced our oysters, which were beginning to spoil, with scallops. Sadly, those only rated a 4/10 at best. The staff definitely put in a lot of effort, but it seems the issue lies in a lack of refined culinary skills rather than a lack of hard work.

We dined on the outdoor terrace, which was delightful. The sound of the waves was just right, not too overwhelming. The service was attentive and friendly. The turbo fish was good, though not exceptional. Overall, we had an enjoyable lunch.

On a positive note, the service was exceptional. Our server checked in just the right amount, making her presence felt without being intrusive. The overall atmosphere resembled that of a typical casual dining spot, with easygoing conversations filling the space. What truly elevated my experience at Moonshadows was the stunning view from the patio and the soothing sound of the waves crashing below as I ate. I look forward to returning soon.

Thank you for a wonderful dinner and great welcoming service. Our waiter, was so amazing and made our anniversary special. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.
