Cristy's Madison

I always enjoy dining at this restaurant, especially for breakfast. However, I find it unusual that they charge for water. I am not sure what the reasoning behind this is. Additionally, hearing the same two Norah Jones songs on repeat for an hour is quite confusing. The cocktails are also quite expensive.

The restaurant offers delicious food at affordable prices, and despite the long lines, the wait times are not lengthy.

Let me give you the scoop on Cristy's. They opened their doors in Madison about ten years ago. The food is average at best. The fries taste like Burger King's, the omelets are very creamy and airy (if that's your thing), and the pancakes are similar in style. However, the real issue lies with the owner and management. They have been caught in a few lies, like claiming during the beginning of Covid that the health department prohibited them from serving tap water, which was not true. They insisted on only selling bottled water while other nearby establishments were offering tap water. Even to this day, they still do not offer tap water and require patrons to purchase bottled water or a sugary drink. It's pretty outrageous! Instead of giving in to their unreasonable demands, it may be best to dine somewhere else where you can trust the quality of the food. Or, you could always bring your own water bottle and fill it up in the bathroom.

Ambiance was great, good company for dinner. Only a few salad options for gluten-free dishes. It's challenging for restaurants to offer GF options, no hard feelings.

Great food, great service, great staff gotta love a timeless spot like this. It's a local destination of sorts, known for no-frills dining. Large portions, decedent diner-style dishes, exceptional drink menu, and reasonably priced. The restaurant is a stones throw from the beach and has plenty of parking. Highly recommended
