Now belongs a former employee, the food seems so good if not better than ever. The extensive breakfast menu includes all classics (eggs, omelet, French toast, pancakes, etc. plus several specialities in the southern style ( chicken fried waffles, shrimps and grottos). Ditto for lunch, which includes everything from sandwiches and burgers to salads and roasted chicken. They also serve weekend brunch, but they don't open for dinner. I met three friends for breakfast and we were lucky to grab one of the few outdoor tables for four. Unfortunately it was on the narrow walkway instead of the new parklet in front, so it felt a bit cramped, especially when people were gathered on foot or at the door. My Belgian waffle was cooked right. When he was shed with a generous cup of fresh strawberries, blueberries and pineapple (including and a little syrup), he tasted great. I wish I would tell them that they made my side order of bacon extra crispy because it seemed somewhat understated. My friends ordered a mushroom omelette with hash and toast, traditional Mexican Huevos Rancheros and a taco salad (from the lunch menu) and everyone said they enjoyed their meals. Service was friendly, but responsiveness was best on average. The bill for four came to just over $100 including taxes, tip and a 3% credit card surcharge. With the exception of the Limp-Bacon (ten mice for four discs! I believe our meals were a good value for the quantity and quality of food.
If you want a real Southern breakfast experience, with great service, then this is the place to go! It is not huge so it can be busy on weekends, prepare for queues. But it's worth it! The menu is massive, with everything you can think about order, plus many unusual dishes (check the fried chicken waffles). The portion size is huge and the food was delicious. Add unlimited coffee top-ups, fresh juice, mimoses and hot sauces and you have a Fab Café.
Fabulous location. Delicious food. Friendly staff, especially Debbie. Highly recommendable. Definitely going there again. Quite a long waiting time, but definitely worth it.
Good outdoor seating. Indoor seats available, but ventilation needs to be updated, smelled very greasy. The mushrooms avocado omelette was good, unfortunately, the hash brown was very disappointing. The french toast also was not up to par. Service was good.
I haven't been here for years and came only recently and glad I did it. large selection of entrees. service was fast and friendly. they have beautiful outside seats now. my only complicity would be that cornbrot. it was dry and not tasteful.
