Wonder Bakery - Los Angeles

The drinks and food are quite enjoyable. I just wish some of the stuffed breads were more generously filled!

I visited this little bakery about an hour before closing, and it was quite empty. It looked like most of the pastries on the outer shelves had already sold out. The lady prepared our drinks quickly. I ordered the green milk tea, which turned out to be very milky and sweet—I completely forgot to ask for less sugar! However, the boba was nice and chewy. The strawberry smoothie was also on the sweeter side. Next time, I think I'll go for a regular milk tea and sample the pastries.

I tried a piece of Tiramisu cake and found it lacking in sweetness. While I usually prefer the less sweet cakes from Asian bakeries, this one was quite bland. The first bite, combined with a sip of coffee, felt almost like eating plain bread. The cream was unremarkable, and the heavy dusting of cocoa powder made each bite taste bitter and chalky. The cake layers were also very dry, and I couldn't finish it.

I had my eye on the $3 per Egg Custard pastry. This was a larger than average sized delicious egg custard with a flaky crust. I ordered the watermelon slushy drink with boba added for an additional 75 cents. There goes my blood sugar but loved it because it wasn't too sweet.
