There is also a table tennis table when you feel like a bit of fun and it is in the shade... The menu is not bad, either I just kept it and had only the chips with guacamole and salsa. I also had the salad that was quite delicious.
I would definitely recommend relaxing day for a pool page. The drinks were perfect. The ambience was great.
Since it was a holiday weekend, they SEVERELY restricted the menu to just a few items, including NO green salad or vegetable options. 3 out of our party of 4 were unable to find even one menu option that fit our dietary restrictions. Happily, though the service was very good and our server was able to get the kitchen to provide 2 options that worked for 2 out of the 3 of us. (The 3rd person basically had very little to eat ? The food was pretty mediocre and the dj music playing in the background was SO loud we couldn't hear ourselves think. Okay, so maybe we aren't the right demographic, but... they should have at least let us know ahead of time the menu we thought we would be ordering from wouldn't be available. Not returning pretty much ever.
The pool and bar is conveniently located in the heat of Hollywood. One can relax at the Tropicana pool bar of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt hotel. A buzzing atmosphere, great service, and good food/drinks. There are plenty of events taking place statue pool. Some of those events are not available to the public, but hotel guests may attend.
I?m rarely compelled to write a review, but I had to after visiting on a Sunday night. I swear I?ve never felt like more of a bother at a bar than after ordering a drink at this place. After ordering one of the 18 dollar cocktails (all the cocktails were around that price, including their draft margaritas), the bartender made it seem as if I had just asked her to grow the fruit herself and say a prayer while she blessed the drink. It wasn?t a one-off moment either, we tried to be super nice since she seemed bothered and her attitude didn?t change when it became apparent some of the ingredients were out of stock. The rest of the staff had the same attitude. Even when switching to a draft marg, we felt like we should rush and get out or she would spit in our drink. At 10pm on a sunday at a Hollywood iconic bar you?d think they would at least try. Marylin Monroe?s ghost has hopefully seen better service at that place, watching from above.. The margarita was decent, the parmesan fries were great, the vibe was strange and relaxed like other hollywood bars. pool of course was a nice view. I hope the staff however has had a chance to fix their attitude problem by the time we visit again.
