The Semi-tropic - Los Angeles

The Semi-Tropic is is a pleasant surprise. My wife and I were out on a date while our children were doing their thing, and we bumped into this wonderful establishment. Parking is a bit sketchy. However, the atmosphere is cool and relaxing. I enjoyed watching the bartender shake drinks. He did it so rhythmically, yes I think the thing that surprised me the most was the food. I ordered a shrimp like poor boy. I’m not sure what it was but oh my God it was so good perfectly the shrimp were perfect. The amount was yes enough yes spilling over enough it was just delicious and my wife order she said her food was delicious too so friendly people over there. I enjoyed the experience.. the prices was about right too well worth it.

I visited this restaurant with a friend during happy hour, and it was excellent! We ordered two Cowboy Killer cocktails, which arrived in a bottle filled with a delightful, campfire-like smoke. We also tried the flatbread and watermelon salad. Normally, I'm not a fan of watermelon salad, but this one was amazing! I brought home a shrimp roll for my boyfriend, and he couldn’t stop raving about it. I will definitely be returning! My only suggestion is that parking can be a bit challenging, but it's absolutely worth it!

Service was a bit slow even though it was pretty dead, but the drinks were good and the interior was nice.

Wonderful ambiance ! Was easy to find street parking even on the weekend. Very well mixed drinks ! The shishito peppers were a lovely snack to munch on. We had the bit crusher which was a very good drink (even for me not a huge mezcal fan) and the parrot project which was milky and sweet (but not too sweet). Overall loved it and will definitely be coming back!

The bartender and waitress were so attentive. We ordered the Nunca sabe and parrot project cocktails and they were delicious. It’s a good place to bring a date.
