Tacos Al Carbon - Los Angeles

Tried this taco place and I just had to review this place. It's been a while since my last review. The reason I am leaving a very bad review this time is what made me need to leave one. I came with my wife to eat, since they have hype on social media. To start, the pastor has no flavor. It seems to have a lot of red color but that's just it red, no seasonings, tastes so bland. Also compared to my favorite locations around LA that cost $2.50 per taco. They cost $3 per taco here, and they suck. The main issue I had here is what happened to my wife. She got her tacos, when she was eating one. Something serious stabbed the inside of her gums. Something made her bleed a lot, I quickly told her to spit it out. Right away we just threw everything away. Only ate 1 ½ of my tacos. She was in a lot of pain I took her to be seen by a friend that's a dentist. She had a piece of METAL stuck in her gums between her teeth. It was a piece of METAL from a wire brush. Never had this issue happen, it's common knowledge that wire brushes are a bad choice to clean grills. No one should get injured just eating a taco. But it happened to us, my recommendation is eat somewhere else. There are better options and cheaper than this place. And for sure less of a risk of injury.

As many have mentioned, the ordering line is very fast paced due to big lines that basically draw everyone in at first glance but quickly will you figure out on your own that it 's just *social media Influencer hype* and nothing more. I WILL say, that the male cooks and those preparing the food have great social abilities and a welcoming atmosphere BUT that shouldn 't be the sole focus when rating a place. And, while I don 't want to come off snobbish because they are still a family business, I think that ratings should be based mainly on food taste. The reality is that the #TASTE was lackluster and they really needed to hone down on salting the meats a bit more because dear God was the taste *bland*. I needed to add some salt to all my 12 tacos when I got home believe me the red salsa they add does not do it any service in regards to flavor enhancement. All in all, this place was hyped because of how social media (e.g. IG) gave pandemic post pandemic people lots of time to explore new places around their area but I would never argue that the place is the biggest hit as some IG FOODIES would put it. If anything Tacos El Pelon which is down the block may be a small food truck but it has the taste necessary. Just my opinion , sorry :

I recently had the pleasure of trying the tacos and I must say they are absolutely fantastic! From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat.The variety of tacos they offer is truly impressive. The flavors were a symphony of delight, and each taco was bursting with freshness and authenticity.The meat was tender, seasoned to perfection, and the toppings were vibrant and incredibly flavorful.In conclusion, if you're on the hunt for great tacos in town pull up here !! Their commitment to delivering mouthwatering, authentic Mexican flavors is truly commendable. I'll definitely be back for tacos love the asap rib and chicken tacos and It's hard for me to a good chicken taco!!

This place is garbage. Came here to get some tacos and first off the employees were rude. Second the food was super dry and seemed like old meat. The Latino guy making the tacos was calling me gringo because im white instead of sir or something respectful. The name carbon serves them right with attitude like that so if you want rude service and nasty food come here

Just tried this place not even 30 minutes ago. First time here and it's a big disappointment. Flavorless food too much coloring on the Pastor and too expensive for no flavor. Not even the sauces have any flavor. The horchata water tasted very synthetic with too much sugar. Worst 30 bucks I have ever spent. Couldn't even finish the tacos because when I bit down on my al pastor taco something very sharp cut the top of my mouth between my teeth. It began to bleed and I just threw out the rest of the food. Don't waste your time here I personally don't recommend it. I have been a faithful customer to Angel's Tijuana Tacos, they are #1. Never disappoint and definitely have better taste and meats than this garbage.
