Restaurant at the Getty Center

We had squash soup as appetizers and a “harvest” salad as our main course. The soup was good but the salad was a pile of unappetizing looking variety of vegetables (minimally dressed raw and cooked) as well as farrow piled separately on a plate. I was embarrassed as my guest who was visiting from Europe couldn’t eat the salad nor could I. Very disappointing and expensive.

We had a lovely time having lunch on the terrace. Very relaxing, beautiful and the food was tasty. The gluten-free “rocks” dessert was surprising and delicious, also perfect for sharing.

Lovely and elegant place to eat inside the spectacular Getty museum complex. The Cobb salad is exceptional and the service is top-notch. Quiet, refined space with large windows looking out at the hills and the bustling city below. A perfect spot.

I guess there was a reason the restaurant was very empty on a Saturday evening. Super location we were excited to dine after visiting the Getty. But unfortunately the food was mediocre, small portions and pricey. We do not drink, and while they did bring water to the table they never offered any non alcoholic options. They also never stopped by to refill our water glasses. I dunno, an Impossible Burger (the fake meat chemical patty) cheeseburger for $35? That's just goofy. I wish I could recommend this place, but I cannot.

It is a beautiful and unusual dining experience, as it on top of a peak at the Getty! The food was very good and friendly service. It is quite pricey, so, I would say it is a good place for a special occasion.
