That's because the chicken pasta is so frickin fantastic. My stomach didn't allow me to order anything else. (And in a college house, my wallet wouldn't allow it either. This dish is spaghetti with cuts of fried chicken covered with shooked mushrooms, onions and peppers, and then ruined with its special and oh-so-good white sauce. Nothing beautiful, but it is creamy, it is filling, and it is delicious. The place is not too large and the space can be dense as the place fills. There can be a short waiting time on a table, but not be discouraged. You will be pleasantly rewarded, which has to offer hurrying curry. Next time I'm in town, I'll try to visit and sample their other beautiful items on the menu.
The taste is okay. I personally don't like Japanese curry so much compared to others. The price is very affordable.
The quality and service has gone down over the years, but still a hometown favorite. better than the newer/bigger curry house on the street. Parking can be a pain in the ass at times, and not worth the valet. warm, fillable, comfortable food (for me)
Curry is my neighborhood for Japanese curry and spaghetti. You can't make a bad choice here, but the Chicken Pasta is probably my favorite dish. The chicken is stunning, crushed and deep fried crispy; and the dish is served with a creamy, garlicky “special white sauce” that is just delicious. If you are a seafood lover, I recommend the seafood spaghetti. If in doubt, choose their bestseller Chicken Cutlet Curry (Make sure to be a tablet of spice pickles onions, ginger and sweet raisins that are a great compliment for the spicy curry). The Fried Calamari appetizer is light, not overcooked; and the Fried Chicken or Shrimp appetizers are good choices, each served with a delicious dip sauce. The menu contains practically no salads and no desserts, but I never missed one. Curry is about food, not so much ambience. Most dishes on the menu (all but three) are less than $10, several vegetarian options are offered and the food portions are considerable. Décor is minimal and French technotronic music plays quietly in the background. On weekends, the noise levels, the lines of cars and the waiting times increase somewhat, but be patient as the lines move fast... and parking service is always free! All in all a good choice, whether to eat alone or with friends.
Great Chicken Cutlet Curry. Whenever I’m in the Sawtelle/Olympic area, Hurry Curry is one of my first choices.
