The coffee on the other hand was pretty basic. Vibe of the cafe and bakery was chill. Lots of outdoor seating. I wish the busboys would stay on top of keeping tables clean.
Very good sweet pastries, the best I found in LA. Savoury brunch options were not great, I had the omelette and it was too buttery and lacked of salt. Definitely worth a stop for sweet treats.
This place is absolutely gorgeous and boasts a variety of classic and floral coffees. I was completely drawn in by the array of cakes— ranging from purely chocolate to fruity— in the display case and couldn't help myself. Although my intention was to just order an iced lavender latte, I walked out with a slice of tiramisu, gateau chocolat, and tarte chocolat.
One day I stopped at the Amandine Patisserie Cafe and enjoyed the visit. First of all, I would like to point out that this is definitely not an authentic French bakery, so do not expect the croissants to have the delicacies of Paris; However, I like their wide range of offers from pastries to cakes, all at very friendly prices. Besides the croissant, what was okay, not bad for the price. I also had a vanilla turnover, and was happy surprised by the banana tart or whatever it is called. It has a balanced, tasty taste and good mix of textures. Definitely the highlight of my visit. Service was not-frills and fast, there are quite a few seats both inside and outside on the sidewalk.
Mandel Croissants were good. It was something on the expensive side, but surprisingly fill. My partner and I have come here three times. Coffee on the other side was pretty easy. Vibe from the café and bakery was cold. Many outdoor seating. I wish the busboys would stay up to keep tables clean.
