Lorne Surf Life Saving Club

It has a limited menu and only only certain times for Summer but the food was great and has the best views over the beach. Definitely worth it. It's the best value meal for the family.

The cafe and bar at the surf club are open over the Summer. The cafe serves excellent cooked breakfasts, homemade muffins and make great coffee. I haven't had lunch there this Summer, but previous years the food was good at lunch too.You can get a drink in the afternoon and dinner on most nights.The view is the stand out here. the big balcony of the surf club overlooks beautiful Lorne beach and Loutit Bay. For breakfast this is the best spot on the Great Ocean Road for mine- the food, cofffee and view just add up.

The surf club has great views, but that’s the only positive I could find. Mundane, poor customer service at best. We ordered a chocolate thickshake that was basically milk with barely a splash of chocolate syrup, the ice cream was non-existent. My vego friend ordered the vegetable pizza and couldn’t get through it, very doughy, with sloppy veg and a cheap and nasty balsamic dressing. Stay away. The kids Napoli pasta was literally noodles mixed with tomato paste, that’s it. I would recommend every other place in Lorne to eat, and even then I would go hungry before ever eating at the surf club again.

This is a freindly little place right on the ocean with great views. The food was very quick and the service was prompt. The drinks on offer were very good too. Overall this was a good pick after a long walk and the staff were very helpful and firendly.
