If you're on the hunt for the best, you've definitely found it at Freddy's. They serve the finest halibut fish and chips on the West Coast, hands down. Don’t bother going all the way to the beach and wasting your time elsewhere. Their batter is perfect, and the fries are simply brilliant – cooked just right every time. If they opened a restaurant in Long Beach, it would undoubtedly steal the spotlight.

The food was quite good and the service was also nice, but I noticed that almost everything on the menu was fried. I was hoping for a bit more variety. Additionally, I wasn’t informed about the specials, while it seemed like other diners were.

I absolutely love this restaurant! My wife and I have been here twice, and as someone who has celiac disease, she really appreciates the excellent gluten-free options available. The food and service have been outstanding on both visits.

The food started. The blackened halibut on Pasta Alfredo with mushrooms was simply the best. Great taste. My compliments to the boss. We were comfortable to eat in: a big bonus. Great service, very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to try the crabs Mac and cheese. I think I'll be back soon. Enjoy! Cheers!

Stop in just for the Halibut! Our first time here, very nice! Freddy's is a cute seaside decorated building inside and out. Makes you feel like you're at the ocean! We tried their Halibut dinner, hot juicy deep-fried Halibut in a lite crisp coating, crisp fries, cold creamy coleslaw, and plenty of lemon and tartar sauce. The menu has many seafood choices most available as an A la Carte to a family sized meal. Pasta/Fettuccini, chicken strips, sandwiches, burgers, steak...dessert... the menu keeps on going! I tried their clam chowder, hot lightly seasoned (thinner) creamy soup filled with potatoes and clams. I loved it! You can get the chowder in a cup, bowl, or bread bowl! Perfect for a cold rainy day! I had to ask about dessert, yes, they do! I enjoyed a nice slice of Lemon Bar, yum! The waitress heard us talking about the possibility of bringing friends here on our next trip to the beach. She said they have quit a few people who just that!
