Although we are not vegetarian, we went for supper at the recommendation of friends who are vegetarian and eat out much more often than us. We started with tasty spring rolls. My wife enjoyed the chicken and shrimp Pad Thai and I had a large bowl of Hue's Style Beef Noodle Soup. I was impressed at the quality of the brisket, often a bit fatty in soups. I couldn't finish all the noodles but the broth was excellent. Even with a pot of pleasant Jasmine tea, dinner for two came in under $30. Trin, owner, hostess and chef was most charming as were her two delightful children. She does not add MSG to any of her dishes.I want to get a Vietnamese sub for lunch there very soon. We will be back for dinner too.
My roommate and I had a great experience at Chi hi Vietnamese restaurant. We ordered the vegetarian pho and the vegetarian pad thai and were really impressed. It is the BEST vegetarian pho ever, could not tell the difference between beef pho and veggie pho, and you could tell the finest ingredients were used! The owner was the sweetest lady ever who immigrated from vietnam and really had a passion for cooking and providing customers with the highest quality at affordable prices. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!
This is one of the best kept secrets in London. The place looks like a hole in the wall but it's fantastic! So many customizations when you order which makes it friendly to almost any dietary issue or choice. Will definitely be back.
Two couples for dinner and to be fair, only tried 2 main dishes and two appetizers: Have tried probably a dozen Viet/Thai restaurants in London and would rate our experience as just average. The pad thai tasted exactly the same as the Sinapore noodle mains. In fact I would swear it was the dish same over different noodles. The shrimp were overcooked, dry, hard, and the pork slices were as tough as leather. We also tried the shrimp rolls and the pork spring rolls which were better than the entrees but not as good as those from other restaurants. Service was friendly and prompt but there was only one other table occupied. Decor, surroundings pretty sterile and uninteresting. Very limited menu. You can easily do better in London.
