Seemed busy enough with plenty of clientele coming and going. However left dissatisfied… char Kway Teow … huge serving , bland seasoning, maybe 2 prawns and 2 pieces of calamari with a handful of bean sprouts. Very ordinary!!! Ordered Nasi Lemak one with beef rendang and one with chicken curry. Not sure if the the rendang was actually beef???? What ever it was had lots of fat and gristle and too much sauce for a rendang and it seems no coconut?? The chicken curry lacked depth of flavour, and worryingly the meat did not come off the bone easily making me think it wasn’t cooked adequately???? We had interaction with 3 staff members 2 were lovely… the person who delivered food ..woman with glasses… seriously let the the team down, slapping food down on table with a grunt!!! Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for quality Malaysian.
Water arrives at the table immediately; orders taken promptly and the food comes out rapidly. This is a place you come to eat and not for atmosphere which was expected prior to arrival. It is inexpensive. I had the Beef Rendang. The rice was fragrant and well prepared. The beef was gristly and not the greatest quality. I would give it a rating of average. The service sizes are quite large. What you pay here reflects the quality. I would pay a little more to lift the quality.
Good service on a public holiday and without the public holiday surcharge tick. Although I dont mind paying the surcharge as salaries are a lot higher for public holidays. But this place always serves good Malaysian style food. Curry laksa, curry puffs and chicken rice hit the spot. My 4yo devoured the chicken rice, his favourite. Curry puffs were fresh, crispy and hot. Laksa was tasty, a bit thirsty after though!
Last time was a month after they opened for business we ate there. [Cross refer to my previous posting. Now revisited 20 months later, had a quick lunch and nil regrets. Par excellence. I had item no. C8 Chef's Special Fried Noodles and my husband item no. N8 Duck Maryland and they were both excellent. This chef is good, and has heaps of followers, so this restaurant is always packed. Well, Folks, if you enjoy good Malaysian hawker style food, this is the place to be. Won't disappoint.
We revisited this restaurant for Sunday lunch so that we could try the assam laksa which they only make on weekends. It was magnificent a spicy, fishy, sour, fragrant soup topped with pineapple, cucumber red onion. We also had some roti canai, belacan green beans and succulent fried chicken wings which were all amazing. The flavours were so authentic and the prices are almost Malaysian too.
