However, I had previously rated "In The Smoke" as poor, having been a big fan of the previous chef and not a fan of "the smoke" process. My love for The Creek kept leading me back for lunch and now I am happy that we kept giving them another second chance. We have been twice already early in the 2017 season and how have they grown. The menu now has a more diverse appeal, with more vegetables/salads, fish and a much welcomed flatbread that acts as the daily special. As a burger guy, the new soft bun is the perfect complement to a far better burger where the flavour of the meat now outshines the condiments. Oh yes, the deck fries....damn good fries.
Great burgers, and wine too. But the burger - sublime. We've been back several times - for the wines and the burgers.
Hubby had pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw and fries and I had quiche with saiad. Pork was ok, nothing better than anywhere else. Fries were fresh and hot. Quiche crust was nice, but was just over fridge temp - odd. Came with Caesar salad - ok, maybe just me, but expected a mixed green salad. Service, however, was distant at best. The server was far too busy eating her lunch to be bothered with her customers. Nice spot, but overall, just a 3/5.
Great local-ingredient-oriented grilled food in a lovely setting on the deck at Creekside Winery overlooking a landscaped koi pond. Possible to get anything from a snack to a complete (and very tasty) meal. Check website for days and times
My husband and I went with another couple who were visiting from Montreal. Some friends of our had told us that this was a great place for lunch. The men had the burgers and declared them delicious - large patties served with very good fries. I had pan seared trout on a barley vegetable salad which was outstanding. The fish was perfectly seasoned and moist. I finished every morsel of the salad. The service could have been better. We had to ask twice for water. The waitress came to take our food order and hadn't even taken our wine order - this Is a winery restaurant after all. The wine is decent. The food was a bit slow coming out but in fairness, it was a beautiful day and it was packed. The restaurant is in a covered patio although with the sun so low in the sky now it was shining on quite a few of the patrons. Bring your sunglasses! It does a pretty view overlooking the vineyards.
