Fun night at The Livery in charming Lewisburg. Recommended by an aunt who is a local. Started at the bar. The bartender needs to brush up on how to make a martini. But, the manager makes a great gin martini. All three of us had trout. Very good!! Enjoyed our evening!
Stopped in for dinner. The food was very good. Great atmosphere and good service. Will go back next time we see in town.
A pretty good stop for dinner and drinks. A bit overpriced, as 3 old fashioneds came out to $54, and the lobster shrimp paella was far more paella than seafood. Otherwise, food and drinks were really good. Appreciated the mocktail menu, great option for those don 't want to or can 't drink alcohol. A bit of constructive criticism, the server was far too over-apologetic over non-issues, such as asking multiple times if the drinks were okay because the bartender is new (the drinks were great), or walking up to the table while apologizing for I assume not coming around for a few minutes (also a non-issue, we were in no hurry). Being from the midwest, I know the personality, and it was even a bit extreme after a while to keep reassuringly saying it 's no problem at all! .
We ate at the Livery our last night in Lewisburg. Since we were staying at the Hampton Inn two miles away and had to walk into town, we were hoping it would be worth it. We were not disappointed. Food is expensive, but the quality and service match up. When we arrived there were no outside tables open, but as soon as one opened up, they happily moved all our stuff outside. Our wait person was the most anxious to please I have ever encountered. The owner decided that the portion of salmon my friend ordered (for $34) was too small, and she knocked $10 off the price. When does that EVER happen? They had home-made goat cheese ice cream, which was delicious. All in all, this was a really pleasant experience.
