Pizzeria Villa Mare Leporano

This is not an obvious location to visit but worth a look. A mostly fish based antipasti range which we ordered for 6 but satisfied our hungry group of 9. Mussels (always a winner), cheeses, croquettes, sliced hams, calamari, shrimps,bell peppers- the usual suspects. The plates were all well received and accompanied by a local white wine.The waiters were attentive and the second pasta dish was nearly too much to eat because we were so full. The restaurant seems to be popular with the locals and that's always a good sign! Finished off with a mediocre sorbet which didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. Will visit again if I'm in the area. Plus point- very reasonable prices.

Popular with the locals for their snails but in general the rest of the menu was quite average. I found the octopus salad rubbery and tasteless and I could continue with the rest of the dishes I had ordered but it would be more of the same. Not one of my favorites in Taranto.

Sabato sera, abbiamo scoperto questo ristorante che ci ha catturati e fermati. Siamo entrati e siamo stati accolti gentilmente dai camerieri alla reception che ci hanno accompagnato al tavolo. Ci hanno avvisato che dovevamo aspettare. Il locale era carino, con musica dal vivo e balli di ogni genere. Mentre aspettavamo che la pizza arrivasse dopo circa due ore e mezza, abbiamo perso un po' la fiducia che avremmo mangiato. Devo dire che la pizza era comunque buona, complimenti al pizzaiolo! Per chi ama la musica, è un posto molto bello.
