George's Tavern - Lanse

In the mid-1950s, we were students at Michigan Tech. Some of us lived in Ishpeming and would head home on the weekends. On Sunday evenings around 10 p.m., we would stop at George's for a beer or two—or maybe more. One of us would act as the designated driver. It was a great way to wrap up the weekend and ease into another week of hard work in the factory barracks near the stadium in Houghton.

It was a fantastic way to conclude the weekend before heading back to a week of hard work at the barracks by the stadium in Houghton.
