Le Kabernet - LAMEQUE

We had an absolutely amazing dinner at this restaurant. The servers were a blast, friendly, and very helpful. The Scotch list before the meal was really impressive. We enjoyed a delicious Argentinean wine with our meal. I opted for two seafood appetizers to save room for dessert, while my wife, who is allergic to bivalves, had the cod which was excellent. We loved it so much that we are planning to return tomorrow for our second night on the island before we leave on Sunday. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant. You won't be disappointed!

This part of NB has lots of great low brow seafood but I was looking for something a little fancier. Le Kabernet did not disappoint. They have the best wine and scotch list I've ever seen outside of a large city. Their menu is extensive (and only in French). I ordered a daily special, porc sauvage, aka wild boar. As you can see the portion is quite large and comes with a mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes, broccoli,and cauliflower. The price was also very fair, coming in at $36CAD. I'm not in Lameque often, but next time I am, I'll certainly stop here again.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and was impressed. The knowledgeable waitress recommended a delicious beer and meal. All six of us in our group enjoyed our meals and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious creme brulee, which rivaled that of a well-known French restaurant. This place is a must-visit for a special occasion.

I would not recommend dining at this restaurant. The food is excellent, but the service is terrible. We waited 30 minutes to receive our order and then waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for our main course. No one asked us if we wanted any drinks or checked on us during our wait. When we tried to pay, we were ignored until we spoke up, and even then, they seemed unconcerned. There was no effort made to provide good customer service. When our food finally arrived, they asked who ordered the duck, but I couldn't remember because of the long wait. There was no apology given. It is a shame because this place has the potential to be wonderful.

Very good restaurant with a great wines selection. Open in evening only, better to make a reservation. You want good food, great wines and a nice evening, try Le Kabernet. A bit expensive but a nice place to discover.
