The place was pretty much full, but the hostess took us right to our table without a wait. My wife and I had not been there for a number of years. We liked the restaurant 's new appearance. We elected to get the options on the restaurant week menu. I had the Peppadews to start which are bacon wrapped shrimp. Very good. Boston Clam Chowder, also good. Main dish was Filet of Strip au Poivre, done as I requested. It was also very good. Desert was a Chocolate-Peanut Butter Pie, which was excellent. Our waiter was DUSTY and she was terrific. She noted that glasses of wine were half off because it was Happy Hour and she came by to make sure all our food and drinks were delivered on time and we were happy. The view of the lake is beautiful as long as the sun is up. We will be back. This was a nice evening.
This place is overpriced and serves uncooked food. While here for the first time I ordered the catch of the day. At $59 I received a 4 ounce filet Seabass on a bed of uncooked rice. I politely told the bartender and told him he could try it because I hadn’t touched that part. He took a bite and immediately spit it in the trash. I was then brought back the fish without rice and told I would get a 25% discount. I have worked in mini restaurants in my lifetime and this is a first for me. When a customer is unsatisfied with the food they either offer to replace it if take it off the bill.
Food was excellent for dinner of ribs and scallops wrapped in bacon, service was slow but they seemed to be overwhelmed after earlier showers. A little on the pricey side but atmoshere on the marina deck was worth it! Was surprised they charged a credit card fee without warning.
We've been several times since the former Marina Gog Galley closed and the owner retired. The new owners have totally remodeled the place and the food is a good as ever. I believe the head chef is a carry-over and is now part owner. In any case, we've been there for dinner as well as brunch. The brunch is not a buffet, so don't be confused about that. It's a great menu with several options. My personal favorite is the lobster omelet. Be prepared, though, it's huge! There are 3 options for **** Marys. I opt for the Marina Mary which is plenty for me, and if you wish you can get it bottomless. I like the peppered rim on the glass. My wife enjoys the Benedict's and mimosas. For dinner I've had everything from the salmon Oscar to the filet to the seabass and more and have never been disappointed. My wife likes the filet as well as the shrimp dishes. The sides are generous and delicious as well. The view is great and if the weather is nice and an outside table has a great atmosphere. We tend to go at least once a month.
2 out of 3 times we've gone, the experiences weren't great. It almost seems like their kitchen has trouble handling when they get even a little bit busy.
