The food is awful, boarding on disgusting. Salvatore's makes Olive Garden look like a Michelin star Italian restaurant. The calamari is breaded thicker than a chicken-fried steak, and over cooked until it is like eating mini rubber tires. The red pasta sauce has so much sugar in it that it belongs in a bakery. I can't even describe the chicken parm.
Saturday, Aug. 24th I went with my sister and it was our first time at Salvatore’s. Just popped in before a Royals game that evening. Food was delicious. The Italian Butter is a must (I hope you love garlic). Cooper was our waiter and he was very pleasant and took care of us. The only thing I would suggest is providing fresh Parmesan. I was disappointed that there wasn’t fresh Parmesan available just grated Parmesan in a shaker on the table. I will definitely be back though.
What has happened. I don't think they even use garlic anymore. Artichoke was mushy chicken Samantha was super bland. I use to love this place. I'll drive downtown to Garozzo's from now on.
Wonderful variety of Italian food and the service was outstanding.
It had been a couple of years since we last visited here. We used to go all the time, especially for lunch when they were open during the day. Our last experience here was good, but not great. The calamari was a little soggy, and the Alfredo sauce for the spedini Samantha was bland and tasted almost like cream gravy. They were very busy at the time, so might have been the problem. We will give it another chance before we give up.
