Gerhard's Elegant European Desserts

Delicious pastries that are not overloaded with sugar. The Frangiapane and a cup of coffee make a great Saturday morning breakfast. And the staff practises old hospitality and customer service.

Gerhard made my oldest daughter's first birthday cake 20 years ago. I love the style, the elegance of the presentation, but more than anything, I love Mary. And the Smiley cookies are the best, not bars.

Excellent, all-natual goodies of all kinds along with a friendly staff and owner make this a MUST STOP when in Lake Forest!

Fabulous and creative pastries in the European tradition. Enjoy tea or coffee, or maybe a luncheon quiche, in the lovely cafe. Mary and her staff make everyone feel at home.

Expensive, average desserts. Nothing to brag about, at least not for me. I’ve been coming a few times and the only pastry I have really enjoyed is the raspberry marmalade tart. I’ll give it 3 stars because the moment I walk in, the owner’s treat is always nice and welcoming.
