Can you have a taste of your cracker, anchovi and salmon sorbet? i thought it was extremely disgusting. why do you have to sorbet fish? it LOOKS amazing though. but that's the only thing that's good about that dish. the rest of the food was wonderfuuuuul!! loovved the food and spanish wine!
Cozy, classy and a lovely hip but relaxed atmosphere. Staff was engaging and super friendly. Food was awesome and great wine selection. Great to see them donating part of the bill to Australian bushfire crisis. 5 stars for a great night.
Movida is generally one of my favourite places to eat. Incredible service. Very experienced waiters and in the case of last night, an impressively well informed sommelier. However the last two visits have not hit the mark as usual. The key with this place is to choose the dishes well. The classic and unchanging menu choices of the anchoa with tomato sorbet, croquettes, beef cheek, jamon and flan are unbeatable. But I didn’t love the tiny serve of abalone smothered in a salty, meaty sauce or the bizarrely heavy zucchini slivers atop a dense floury base. The eggplant and chickpea pancake didn’t taste of much except parsley salad. Can we please have some of the vegetarian classics back? Field mushrooms glistening in sherry, butter and thyme? Stuffed peppers? Something light and fresh? I’ll be back for more but hoping my vegetarian friends are more enthused by the offerings.
One of the best places I’ve been in a while! I’m a skeptic when it comes to ordering chicken/any white meat when eating out, but the Capon dish was so succulent and bursting with flavour. The tostados were the second favourite for me. All dishes were great, and perfect for sharing amongst friends. Loved Movida De Tapas!
