Good food value for money. I don't often eat in all you can eat places ...but went here with my friends. I had been to Goldleaf before but did not realize this place was there in the shopping centre just behind.<br/ <br/ This place has a simple decor...but for $16.50 $14.50 for seniors) it is excellent value for money.<br/ The Chinese food is good better than most Chinese takeaways Friend I ate with too used to own a Chinese restaurant and he likes the food there; my dad from overseas enjoyed the food too). Also it is not too salty ie not that much MCG)<br/ There is good variety..inc Western food, desserts, fruits, sushi, Vietnamese spring rolls, salads, coffee is also included in the price.<br/ There are lots of tables so there is no pressure to move , and there is enough space around for kids and relatively secure too as there is only the front entrance and exit. Ample free car parking just outside Village cinema carpark) is a big plus.<br/ <br/ Overall the food here is better than the last all you can eat I went to at Crown's...for a fraction of the price there.
I saw quite a few bad comment but still wanting to give it a try as I was working nearby and very hungry. It's not that bad for the price i paid. It offered the standard all you can eat will do and it's what I called cheap and cheerful
For the price you're paying, I think it's quite good. Don't expect it to be some fancy buffet because it's not. It's simple basic food. Most of the dishes are kept warm and quite fresh. I tend to steer away from the cold dishes because I'm not sure how long they have kept it. Kids love this place though! It's right up their alley
My fiancée and I dropped into Brimbank Plaza to have some slacks altered and were a little peckish, so visited the food court. However, when a kebab lunch pack cost more than $15 each I suggestted we head to you know where for those who know me well a buffet restaurant hahaha... If we keep doing this we will both end up looking like the side of a house hehe.<br/ <br/ Anyway, travelled about 15 minutes from Brimbank to Sunshine Food Star, which offered a wide selection of entrées, mains and desserts for $18.50 per head (lunch price). As you can see from the photos, I took small samples from many of the different foods on offer. I must admit that while I have heard Food Star get a bad rap from time to time, all of the food I ate was well cooked, tasty and not dry which I couldn't say for Food Star Reservoir when we last ate there. I just loved the beef pie (which I hadn't seen here before), with a beautiful crispy puff pastry topping and melt in your mouth beef, and the fish dishes, noodles and honey and lemon chicken. With sushi, salads, a tender beef and pork carvery, chicken and corn, mushroom and pumpkin soups, a wide range of Asian (particularly Chinese) cuisine, we were so glad we took the time to travel here. But dinner will certainly be light tonight haha. Perhaps I won't even eat tomorrow!? ?
