4.0 Very Good<br/ <br/ We came here late after watching Star Wars, what better way to drown our sorrows and discuss everything wrong with the movie than over some quality pizza and beer! It was still really really hot and we were given a table outside, it wasn’t any better inside as you could feel the heat from the wood fired pizza oven.<br/ <br/ As it was already late we just wanted some pizzas to share rather than our usual multi-course meal. Pizzas arrived in quick succession after the kitchen fulfilled multiple takeaway orders. Some nice burnt blistering and char on the bottom gave it a nice bitter taste to the dough, texturally the centre of the pizza didn’t hold its shape as well when being held but the dough was wonderfully chewy you wouldn’t want to throw away the crust, it was my favourite part.<br/ <br/ We got their classic margherita, just something I order if I’m overwhelmed with choice and is your standard pizza type to compare to other pizzerias. What really stood out to me other than the dough was the San Marzano tomatoes used, imported from Italy. They were wonderfully juicy and sweet with little acidity. My favourite pizza combination that night was the “Forget About It”, artichoke, nice fatty pancetta, cavolo nero (kale) and a duo of cheeses, fior di latte and taleggio. Not far behind was their Pork and Porcini, pork sausage and porcini mushrooms topped with some peppery bitter rocket. Again a pairing of cheeses, mascarpone and parmigiano.<br/ <br/ The waitress was super friendly and conversed with us as well as other customers. The shop is small so if you plan to dine in, I suggest a reservation. Conveniently located to the train station so you can make a quick exit if needed.
Boss Pizzeria, what a place! The restaurant hosted some foodies to try out the menu and as soon as I saw pizza, I was there!. The restaurant is right beside Camberwell station, great for public transport customers like myself. It was a pretty wet and chilly evening sitting outside but there were heaters to warm us up as the restaurant is not very big. One thing I loved about the indoor area was being able to see the open pizza cooker.
Came here for a dinner and it was very impressive. The pizza base is one of the most important aspect to me and Boss nails it. It's thin, crispy and has the right amount of bite to it. The best part is that it didn't get soggy with all the toppings . Toppings were fresh and plentiful and I noticed they cater for vegans as well. Do try the nutella calzone, it is amazing
Recently opened, Boss Pizzeria is a great small pizza place at Camberwell and I will give here the details of my visit.<br/ *Location: Close to Camberwell train station, it is easy to get there by train or car.<br/ *Ambience: There is a wood-fired oven inside and a neon sign on the wall, what gives the place a nice and warm vibe. It is also possible to seat on the tables outside.<br/ *Service: Staff here is very friendly and happy to help with any questions about their food.<br/ *Food: The starters are very well presented, specially the deep-fried eggplant with cheese. The highlight of the place are the pizzas of course, my top favourites were margherita, garlic and prosciutto. The desserts are awesome too, the Nutella calzone with ice cream on the side is a must try.<br/ *Price: We were in a large group so we shared everything, but I believe between two people one starter and two pizzas should be enough for a nice dinner.
