So cheesy and light and delicious. My partner had the steak frites and he said it was the best bernaise sauce he’s ever had! Make sure you order the apple tarte tatin, it was the best way to finish the meal. Oh and they also have yummy complimentary bread and butter which I loved. This place was packed when we walked in, so I’d recommend to book. Looking forward to our return visit already.
We love supporting local business, so were rapt when a french restaurant opened in Surrey Hills with a ‘genuine’ french chef and french waiters, albeit young and on working holidays!!<br/ The food lived up to expectations, and the service was friendly but lacked the finesse of a 5 Star restaurant; but then we felt that was part of the ‘charm’. <br/ If you live in the area, get down and support your local business; you won’t be disappointed and no hassles beating the breathalyzers getting home!!<br/ <br/ PS by popular demand the restaurant had moved to an appropriately and wonderfully appointed new premises at 346 Belmore Road, East Balwyn.
What a great find in the fabulous Mont Albert shopping strip. A quaint little Parisian style restaurant with a cosy feel to it. I was with a group of friends and we all ordered something different so we all got to have a taste of each other’s delicious meal. Firstly the snails, served on a delicious creamy garlic sauce. The French onion soup was to die for. Cheese soufflé was scrumptious. Then for mains I had beef bourguignon, So tender and tasty. Others had the fish of the day and the duck a l’orange and all commenting how delicious each dish was. All beautifully presented with huge servings that definitely did not leave us feeling hungry. We were so full after but had to try the chocolate soufflé. It did not disappoint and had to be the biggest soufflé I have ever seen. Just melted in my mouth. Do yourselves a favour and try this little gem. Easy parking and easy to get to. The chef did an amazing job. I’ll be back.
A few friends and I got together to try something a little different and my taste buds cannot thank me enough! A quaint little restaurant that's very design serves to highlight the wonderful interaction the wait staff provide throughout your meal. Honestly I am taken back by the level of service we received and then to top it all off the food was perfection! We began with an antipasto plate that had a great selection. I ordered a medium steak with fries and salad and for me this was the highlight, the steak was so delicious I had to share with others to show what they were missing out on. We ordered three deserts to share amongst the group and keeping in line with the rest of the evening were absolutely blown away.<br/ <br/ Do yourself a favour and check in to Bonjour Bonsoir for a wonderful meal and fantastic service.
We will definitely be back. Small but lovely restaurant. We had the French onion soup, duck risotto, beef casserole (can’t remember the French name for it) and the Creme Brûlée. Everything was delicious. Corkage was $8 per bottle. Bookings are a must as there are not a lot of tables.
