Bahnhof Cues - Kröv

We visited every evening in the last days and had a really great time. Super friendly staff and very helpful. The menu was excellent as the price. The only drawback was that the restaurant/bar closes at 9 a.m. and it would ideally have preferred to stay open at least at 10 a.m. I'll probably go back sometime.

It is always a bit difficult if you stay in a tourist place to find a pub/cafe/restaurant whisky is authentic and used by locals: the station brewhouse in Cues has recommended it all!

Meat was cold. Vegables were cold. Not very expensive. Not good either. We had schnitzel and turkey.

Ate here one night while on a river cruise. Looking for something local and simple. This brew house used to be the train station. It was an easy walk from the boat across the bridge(10 min). The place is welcoming with inside and outside seating. We choose inside because it was a cool and drizzly night. We were greeted by a young German waiter who told us they didn’t have English menus, but he would translate for us. He was excellent and friendly and patient. He had traveled to the USA a couple of times, so he was familiar with the difference between how something is prepared in Germany as opposed to the USA. We ended up with schnitzel and a crispy chicken ‘burger’ (which was a chicken breast fried in the same type of breading used for the schnitzel). Both dishes came with fries. Both plates were good. The schnitzel came with a creamy mushroom sauce on the side. The chicken came with a sauce that tasted like a mix of thousand island dressing and mayonnaise. We ended with warm apple cake (delicious). We also tried a local beer (Wintsel), a blond beer with a wheat taste. The experience was what we were looking for (relaxed, unhurried, and simple) and the waiter couldn’t have been better. His willingness to help us made the night memorable.

Food was average, burgers, pasta and one of the worst carvings ever. However, what reduced the points was that the staff had to be asked a few times after the bill. And the hostess runs around without a mask during this pandemic period! Avoid this place!
