I am vegetarian (I informed the restaurant in advance) and took the 5 course. It started with the Amuse Bouche 3 for my partner and for me, the vegetarian, only 2... not really cool. It's not that difficult. A small piece of roasted mozzarella that was not delicious. But first great disappointment was my beet root Carpaccio THICK slices of raw beet root swimming in a sweet citrus sauce. I left half of it. If it were expected that one would have asked if something was wrong, but they did not seem to be disturbed. It just went on, it just felt like it was made without love at all, almost as if I was punishing myself for not eating animals. I had to ask the waiter if this is the first time they cooked for vegetarians. Wines were delicious, but this is certainly no reason to get a Michelin star and charge 90 160 euros for the food. Service was not what I was used in a Michelin-star restaurant (under the pronunciation of basic dishes and lack of care for the costumer). I really hate to write a bad review, but I couldn't avoid it this time.
This extraordinary Michelin 1* is definitely not to be missed when visiting the wonderful area of Spreewald, Germany, about 1.5 hours south of Berlin. The surroundings were idyllic in the beautiful bleaching (means stork in english) resort and spa and the food fabulous especially the forgery of deer with Rhabarb, celery and Juniper foam. My husband, a real 'Foodie' said it was one of the best dishes he ever had, and I loved for one, and ate the foie grass gently. The Breton Lobster Risotto was mouthwater like the delicious dessert of acidic cream, Baba Au Rhum, citrus fruits and Matcha. The service, the wines and the ambience were all top notch and a highlight of the experience went into the kitchen to meet the chef, Alexander Muller, who told us that the deer was caught on site. A fabulous experience!
The food is absolutely Star Cuisine, better than some I enjoyed in this class. Excellent wine list. Service is attentive and friendly, very high. Nevertheless, you are made at once comfortable, in their spacious dining room. It is the culinary experience that I only once a year, but definitely worth the cost.
Great food, great menus flexible staff that allows to change individual courses. Amazing wine selection, with high end, but also very inexpensive wines.
My boyfriend and I stayed at this delightful wellness resort and spa in March 2012. It's set in the heart of Spreewald, about a 2 hour drive outside Berlin. Accommodation was gorgeous, a mixture of rustic and antique, but all very tasteful very much our style. The bathroom was rather small though. But the best part by far was the actual spa (Landtherme) itself. The beautiful decor, with 3 swimming pools, loungers in every corner, kelo sauna, steam bath, salt sauna, jacuzzi, aromatherapy room and various relaxation rooms, all set amid peaceful surroundings, allowed for relaxation and complete rejuvenation. The food in the restaurants were equally as good. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend it.
