I am about to wrap up my 4th lifetime stay at the Grand Hyatt Kauai. My other 3 stays were in 1999, 2013, and 2014. I was somewhat disappointed with this stay for 2 reasons. Perhaps my reasons are petty, but I came in with high expectations. After all, we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. First, we were not given any special perks other than a bottle of champagne at checkin. We received room category upgrades and day pass access to the spa facility in the past. Second, a month after we booked our reservation the hotel sent notice that the waterslide was to be shut down during our entire stay for maintenance. They didn't mention that they also were closing off the bottom 1/4 of the lazy river. These are 2 of their best pool area activities so this was a letdown. Regarding the slide and lazy river maintenance, the management failed to extend any type of notification (letter at checkin or in room, or post a sign at pool area) stating that the maintenance was going to be completed earlier than originally announced. Because I got no notification I didn't visit that area again until my last full day of stay. The lifeguard at the top of the waterslide informed me it was operational for the previous two days. Our room was great. Breakfast buffet on terrace (included with our room package) was great. Dinner at Tidepool Restaurant (expensive) was great. Drinks at upper pool bar were not great (watered down, possibly from too much ice).
Our honeymoon at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort Spa was an unforgettable experience! The staff is absolutely the most friendly we've ever encountered. They made our stay incredibly special, from the champagne welcome to the wonderful room upgrade we couldn't be happier with our stay. The amenities at the resort are top notch, including a well equipped gym, a luxurious spa, and even a Lululemon boutique. The resort truly has everything you could possibly need for a perfect getaway. The restaurants were all 5 star quality, offering delicious meals, and the nightly live music added an extra special touch to our evenings. We had such a fantastic time that we can't wait to come back. If you're looking for an exceptional stay in Kauai, we highly recommend the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort Spa!
Beautiful! Conveniently close parking if you have a rental car. Great pools and beach front. Very luxurious hotel! They have a lazy river, a few hot tubs, a tide pools area. It's lush everywhere. The beach front is never crowded here! Poipu beach was beautiful but packed! We enjoyed a luau here and they killed it with the food!!
The Grand Hyatt was a real treat and worth the extra moolah. We are usually frugal shoppers and decided on paying a little more for such a well reviewed luxury resort. Didn't regret it one bit. All staff were absurdly friendly and helpful, from front desk to housekeeping to pool attendants. Self parking is easy, close to the lobby, and never over capacity. The grounds are massive and beautifully kept, with plenty of lush foliage, ornate art, and styled pathways. We enjoyed the on-premises dining, which were expectedly expensive, but served quality meals with quality ingredients. The rooms are comfortable, with lots of amenities like a sanitary pack of masks and wipes, spa products, espresso machine, and chromecast enabled flatscreen TV. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer to enjoy the beautiful scenery on shipwreck beach, with impressive pools and hikes around.
