The hotel is a large conference focused hotel with 2 large blocks. My daughter booked for a family trip. She and her husband and children were located in one block but I was located in the other. Not a big deal but a little inconvenient, especially when we found ourselves in the rooftop bar on opposing blocks!. Although my room cost the same as a double it was a single. The tv was not the same standard as my family enjoyed in both of their rooms; my mattress was seriously in need of replacement. As it had one side against the wall everyone had sat on the same side and I kept waking in the night thinking I was about to roll out of bed. Not my best hotel experience. Well located, although my Danish family felt it was a long way out. It was only 10 15 minutes walk to Tivoli Gardens. We walked everywhere. There was a swimming pool which the family enjoyed most days. We ate breakfast daily, which was generous. On the day we arrived we had a late lunch in the bar. Fine burgers.
This is a moderately high quality hotel with an excellent restaurant. The rooms are moderately spacious, clean, and well organized with a min-bar, water cooker, complimentary powdered coffee and tea, desk for work, comfortable chair for sitting, TV, and a decent sized bathroom. The hotel has an exercise room and a nice pool that has one section sufficiently long for doing laps. The service at the front desk and concierge is friendly and efficient. There are umbrellas to borrow if it rains and bicycles to rent to tour Copenhagen. The hotel is located about a 15 minute walk from the center of Copenhagen. The restaurant has excellent food. The breakfast has a nice variety of high quality foods including pancakes, pastries, hot dishes, salads, and a limited fruit bar. Dinner is even better with some fancy presentations and excellent food plus a decent international wine list.
Came in with two kids, 2 and 5, and was greeted with a huge smile by the manager, who also made an effort to make the kids feel welcome. I believe her name was Catherina. Was then serviced by Ashraf, who similarly did his utmost to make us feel welcomed. We ordered quickly, as it was a bit past their dinner time, and was pleasantly surprised at the food arriving extremely quickly. Burger and Pasta for the kids and the Pumpkin Tagliatelle for me absolutely delicious. And while the price wasn 't low, it was not high either. Some examples of the service: My daughter had the kids cocktail as well and said she really liked it, but didn 't like the fizz it had. Catherina overheard this and offered a new one with no fizz in it, which we delightfully accepted. We were playfully talking about how grown ups have 2 stomachs, one for dinner and one for dessert, when Ashraf arrived with drinks. I asked him isn 't that right, we got two stomachs as adults and he immediately played along, almost fooling my kids. There were several other positive incidents along the same line. Finally, when we were about to leave, the staff asked me if they could offer the kids a candy treat for being so good. This capped off a great experience for the kids, with a grateful dad as a result.
The room is huge, with all the comforts and full of light. The bathroom is very comfortable and well organised. I loved the wide time span for breakfast- from 7 to 11- and the variety and quality of the food. Also the distance from the railway station is convenient: it is one kilometre far, so if you are a good walker it won't be a problem. There are two restaurants, a bar and a brasserie inside. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to use the pool and gym, but they are very proud of it. I will have to go next time!
