S S Cafeterias - Knoxville

I have always loved a good cafeteria, and S&S is one of the best. Friendly staff, GREAT country style food, and a lot of bang for your buck very affordable. If you go, you have to try the Jalapeño Cornbread.

S&S is an excellent spot for a hearty meal of meat and two sides. They offer a diverse selection of meats and vegetables, all ready for you to choose from in a cafeteria-style setting. The servers greet each customer with such warmth and friendliness that I felt compelled to return just to see them again. The food is scrumptious, served hot, and expertly prepared. If you're a fan of fried chicken, this is the place for you. One of my companions ordered the chicken Tampico, which is a deep-fried chicken breast topped with a spicy queso sauce. Another chose the baked tilapia, and we all shared the cheesy squash casserole. Everything was absolutely delicious!

If you enjoy good cafeteria style food, please take your love one and yourself to S&S. Good food at a reasonable price, along with good service. If your veteran, please remember to share that with the cashier.

This is one of the few local cafeterias still operating. There’s no wine menu or alcohol served, and as far as I know, the servers don’t sing "Happy Birthday." However, the food is delicious, featuring traditional regional dishes that have been made from the same recipes for many years. The country steak, mac and cheese, and green beans I had last week tasted just like I remember from 30, 20, and even 10 years ago. So, be sure to get in line, grab a tray, and choose your favorites. Definitely don't skip the dessert! Tell them I said hi!
