I had never seen the actual Port One bento before, so maybe asking for extra rice was a bit much? Haha. The ginger pork was thick, tender, and juicy, and the Port One bento looked stylish and perfect for women. I regretted ordering extra rice for it. Both dishes were delicious with great seasoning. I wonder if I should try the mammoth meat and 2020 bento challenge next time?
I visited Restaurant Port One (located on the 2nd floor of Odate Noshiro Airport) on October 11, 2020 (Sunday). I saw an ad in the local newspaper, Hokuhoku Shinpo, on Saturday advertising a secret special lunch for 900 yen. The details were to be announced on their Facebook page on the day of. When I checked on the day of, it turned out to be a Chinese lunch. The meal consisted of 6 side dishes with pork minced meat Lo Mein as the main dish. Plus, you could get one free refill. Salad, soup, cake, and unlimited Nagahama Coffee were all included for 900 yen, which I thought was a good deal. Since I had never been to Port One before, I thought it was a good opportunity to go. I arrived at 11:30 am, but the restaurant was already full. I was surprised as I thought it wouldn't be that crowded since there are only two round-trip flights per day. I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes outside the restaurant and another 20 minutes inside before finally being seated. I enjoyed various side dishes (red-cooked pork, vermicelli spring rolls, Chinese-style bean sprouts, ginger stir-fried clams, white fish stewed with star anise, and chicken in chili sauce) and was satisfied and full after enjoying multiple servings of Lo Mein. It was a satisfying and filling lunch!
I arrived early to catch my morning flight and decided to have breakfast. I had the Hinai-jidori oyakodon, which had tender eggs and flavorful Hinai-jidori chicken with a nice texture. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
