Bella Bistro - Kingston

A wonderful dinner. I went last night (Friday) as a party of 5, the two children (one in a high chair). I had reserved and then an extra adult was added (a big no in my understanding). the young man who sat us was not even there, did not try to feel bad or something, just fit another chair. the place was packed and the service has not dispensed with excellent. we ordered fast, eating was definitiw 5 stars quality and I loved the non-pretentious atmosphere. I found the prices very fair for the very large portions. you are sorrow and calamari are two of the best I had. I had the whispers, my sister had the steak and my daughter had a burger with a fantastic Caesar salad. no one at my table had complained at all. I don't doubt I'm going back.

We were in a Sunday night as a party of three! we were one of the few tables that do not order the main rib! calamari and crab dips were great. prosciutto pizza and thai coconut curry chicken were excellent! nice friendly service in an out-way place!

Interesting menu and pleasant servers but it's trying to be fine dining in a greasy spoon. Would be a gem if they developed a patio on the water. I like what they're doing, just not there yet.

Went after the dinner rush and this place was still packed.... this place is busy and not huge so keep that in mind if you haven't made a reservation. We had a daily pizza special (not on menu and Warm Spinach Salad w/Chicken. Pizza was okay would choose a burger next time, the ones I saw come out looked good (lamb burger next time! . It was all served surprising quickly for the amount of people there. Servers were great, quick, attentive and friendly. Came back many times to confirm everything was good and she was extremely busy. Only disappointment was the list of beers looked big but not one stout or porter... not sure if that was normal but I'd recommend they consider the option. I'll give it a second go round if I'm out that way again.

We've been here several times but haven't been to the restaurant in a while. I thought for a treat last night we would go back to Bella and have supper. I had the pasta carbonara and my wife had a vegetarian burger. I've had the pasta several times before and it is one of my favourite dishes. However, last night I found the pasta very greasy with a large amount oil at the bottom of the plate. I mentioned this to the waitress and she said she would inform the kitchen. Overall, the food was mediocre and the service was very slow. I'm not sure what's changed but something has and, unfortunately, not for the better. Jay K.
