However, I am uncertain if the vol au vent was actually vegan, especially after reading other reviews here. The vegan breakfast was decent, but not particularly outstanding and could have been improved.
While visiting Killarney, we decided to embark on the popular tourist activity of walking through the Gap of Dunloe. To catch the bus at 9am, we stopped by Mug Bean to grab a quick coffee to go. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting in line for ten minutes behind three other parties. Even when it was our turn, the staff engaged in a conversation with another customer instead of taking our order. Frustrated by the slow service, we ultimately left without our coffee to catch the bus on time. Additional charges for syrup and alternative milk options were noted. It's worth mentioning that Killarney participates in a commendable project of using no one-way cups, but the inconvenience of having to carry the cup throughout the entire walk and potentially a boat trip back for disposal may be impractical for some visitors.
I ordered the vegan breakfast since it was the only option available, as recommended by the staff. Unfortunately, it was bland compared to the delicious and flavorful dishes that my dining companions ordered. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant.
Had the Vegan Brekky, which came with butter, still the other items on the plate were vegan. Tasted well all in all. Unfortunatelly, they ran out of hash browns (we visited in the morning) but didn't tell us. When we asked for something in exchange we got more bread and avocado with relish, very nice.
Had a lovely smashed avacado breakfast. Few other veggie options. Gluten free bread too
