I’ve been eating at Marie Callender’s since I was a kid so this is a nostalgic place for me. I will say the quality of food has declined from where it used to be years ago, but still, it was an enjoyable meal for us. The interiors looked just like it looked from back when I was a kid so you really feel like you are transported in time dining here. We had not been to a location in about seven years or more, so it was nice to try it again. It’s very well-known to have a lot of senior diners and I can say for my visit last night that it is still the same, a majority of the diners were retired. They have a fairly large parking lot so parking is easy and plentiful. Our server was also very polite and even though it took quite a bit for our food items to come out she did a great job. Marie Callender’s is known for their pies, so we chose to end our meal with the Strawberry and Cream Pie and the Custard Pie. Between the two, the Strawberry and Cream pie was my favorite, but overall the Cherry Pie is still my top favorite. For my entrée, I chose the Spicy Ortega Chicken Sandwich on Parmesan Sourdough and thought it was actually very good. Was better than I was expecting and I would recommend it. Overall pricing is pretty fair and there are a ton of options on the menu so it would be a good option if you are in the mood for some classic casual American food. Parking: free parking lot attached
Exactly what you'd expect from a Marie Callendars diner. Had the chicken pot pie and it was flaky, though a bit watery. The salad and pie were quite tasty when paired with the pot pie. Could become a regular brunch spot as it appeared already to be for many there.
I haven't been here for a good while. It somehow changed as far as service servers are concerned. They seem to be detached. What I mean by that is that they appear to just go through what the day to day brings. No warmth or welcoming feeling when you get in. They just tell you to go sit yourself. I ordered an open face hot turkey sandwich that came with a small serving of mashed potatoes a very tiny plastic container of cranberry sauce. I told the server I would definitely need more than that, he brought another one of the teeny tiny plastic container proceeded to tell me that if I asked for another one, I will be charged. The turkey is not tender. It's a little chewy dry. They never brought the garlic bread that comes with it. I remembered to ask for it towards the end of my meal. That's the only time the server remembered he hasn't brought it. Also, they absolutely do NOT allow any substitution at all at any time. Now I remember why I haven't been back here for many years. The only reason I was here was to order fresh peach pie to take to a friend's house. To be honest, I was surprised they are still open for business. And if they eventually close for business... I wouldn't be surprised either.
I get the chicken pot pie trio. It comes with a chicken pot pie, salad, pie and corn bread, or garlic bread.
