Excellent natural restaurant in the heart of kalkars. very good wild dishes, class-price-performance ratio. rustic, well maintained environment. espresso is the only thing you can do.

Been here twice last year as my inlaws live very close. The food is fantastic, the wild boar was unbelievable, great wines and beers. It has a very warm and cosy feel. Will be back soon.

Ratskeller offers the customer a true taste of traditional german cuisine with a good selection of wines and a vintage fashioned service...absolutely perfect. Quality of food is at top level in the area and this is teh reason why prices are a little bit overrated comparing to the average, but the experience id worth a dinner.The atmosphere itself is warm and romantic due to the old building in which the restaurant is located. From this point of wiew Ratskeller is in the very centre of small and cool Kalkar village in the beautiful Markt Platz. Talking about the food, I would suggest a taste of traditional shnitzel with a good bretzel and a weissbeer...i think this is Germany on your table...But anyway they are even good at cooking lasagna (I can say that as I'm italian... and the soups are delicious. So, buon appetito!
